Taste of Cavan started in 2012 as a showcase for local produce in the Cavan area. The first Taste of Cavan was staged in the Hotel Kilmore and though on a small scale, attracted over 7,000 visitors - proof if any were needed that there was a strong appetite in Cavan for quality local food.
The Festival soon moved to a larger marquee at Cavan Institute before further growth necessitated the move to its current home at the state-of-the-art Cavan Equestrian Centre.
Over the years, Taste of Cavan has attracted the country's very best chefs and food personalities including Neven Maguire, Rachel Allen, Clodagh McKenna, Kevin Dundon, Richard Corrigan and the late, great Paulo Tullio.
As well as providing a platform for producers to showcase their wares to tens of thousands of local consumers, Taste of Cavan has also proved to be a fertile ground for doing business, and several major contracts have been entered into by exhibitors on the basis of meetings at Taste of Cavan.
The festival has garnered major local and national media coverage, with RTÉ Nationwide featuring Taste of Cavan in a Cavan food special and the RTÉ series 'You Should Really See a Doctor' filming its first episode there.
2017 attracted in excess of 25,000 visitors
